I’m Ryan Yan, and Xiao is my birth name. I’m an abstract expressionist based in Atlanta, GA and I turn treasured stories and emotions into fine art.

When I paint, I have an opportunity to express emotions authentically. When someone experiences my work and it resonates, I feel understood. When someone ultimately collects my work and interprets it for themselves, I feel treasured. I strongly believe that everyone deserves to feel deeply understood and treasured.

My work has found homes in major cities all over the world (including NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and more)

Where:

I’m based in Atlanta, GA, which I have called home for the last 30 years. I create out of my private studio located in Reynoldstown.

Note on Commissions:

My commission process is simple - I aim to first capture your emotional narrative/intent and then align it with your desired visual aesthetic. Here are the questions I ask of each commissioner

1. What size painting are you looking for?

2. How do you want the painting to make you feel?

3. What paintings have I done in the past that resonate with you?
